🚢🏻 Circuit Walk from Yarran Dheran to Antonio Park and return

  • Yarran Dheran Nature Reserve 1A Ashburton Drive Mitcham, VIC, 3132 Australia (map)

Join the local community for a gentle walk through Yarran Dheran and Antonio Park, exploring the natural and historical highlights of the Mullum Mullum Valley. Along the way, you’ll experience Yarran Dheran, one of the best remaining examples of valley heathy forest in urban Melbourne, and Antonio Park, a protected area for local flora and fauna. Both reserves form part of the regionally significant wildlife corridor along Mullum Mullum Creek.

An additional highlight of the walk is a stop at Schwerkolt Cottage, where volunteers from the Whitehorse Historical Society will provide a guided introduction to the cottage and its history.

This circuit walk starts and finishes at the Yarran Dheran Visitor Centre and takes up to 3 hours. It is designed for those interested in the paths, natural environment, and history of the reserves and Schwerkolt Cottage. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended, and please wear walking shoes.

This event is part of the Seniors Week Program and offers optional early exit points at Schwerkolt Cottage or Antonio Park.
