🦜 Monthly Bird Survey with Frank Gallagher

  • Yarran Dheran Nature Reserve Ashburton Drive Mitcham, VIC, 3132 Australia (map)

Yarran Dheran Bushland Reserve forms part of the environmentally significant Mullum Mullum Valley and sits within the wildlife corridor that follows Mullum Mullum Creek to the Yarra River at Templestowe.

This connectivity supports a rich diversity of habitats and attracts at least 60 bird species. Some are permanent residents, while others are nomads or seasonal migrants, including species rarely seen in urban reserves. Recent sightings include the Australian Nightjar and the Olive-backed Oriole, a regular spring visitor.

The Committee monthly bird surveys have been maintained since 2006.

Bring binoculars if you have them and wear comfortable walking shoes.

The event will be cancelled in the case of extreme weather.

Everyone is welcome – no experience required.
